A netball Christmas party!! It’s Christmas party time on Saturday 10th December 2016 when netball powerhouses Manchester Thunder, Team Bath, Mavericks and Celtic Dragons plus the high profile new team Wasps face off in an exciting Superleague preview. The Mike Greenwood Trophy is our first chance to see the new line-ups around the Netball Superleague. If you want to join us at the Manchester Arena and start to get all Christmassy then please let your coach know by this Friday 25th November or email [email protected].
Trafford Juniors are currently looking for enthusiastic, vibrant coaches/volunteers to join our team! We have a fantastic team of coaches and 'behind the scenes' support and are looking for individuals who are passionate about netball to join us.
We have training/games on most days so can work around existing commitments and can offer training and support to individuals looking to progress. If you are interested or would like some more information please contact Toni Naylor at [email protected] Another great tournament for Trafford this weekend at the rescheduled Dominoes tournament at Wright Robinson with absolutely glorious weather!
After a little confusion with age groups and team allocation, the tournament got underway. It began with our U11's, who (with reference to the aforementioned confusion) were playing in the age group above them, yet still managed to put on a fantastic performance! The afternoon consisted of our U12's, 2 U13's teams, U14's in the U15's competition and a mixed U15's and U16's team in the U16's competition. The U13's competition was a round robin and, unfortunately we didn't place 1st or 2nd. The U12's and U14's got through to quarter finals but didn't manage to progress further. The highlight of the day was our U15 and U16's mixed team who came runners up in the U16's competition getting beaten narrowly by Leeds Athletic. Congratulations and well done to all who took part. Thank you, as always, to Dominoes for organising, Wright Robinson for hosting and all players, coaches, parents, supporters and helpers for making the day so successful! Another great tournament for Trafford Junior Netball Club last weekend!
All players did brilliantly! Our U12’s put in a sterling performance getting through to their final and narrowly missing out on victory to Bury. U13’s had some cracking wins but unfortunately didn’t quite make it through to their semi-final. U14’s and U15’s had round-robin tournaments. U14’s came second in their group only being beaten by tournament winners, Warrington and U15’s played some lovely netball and had some great games but unfortunately missed out on a medal. Thank you for all players, supporters, parents, coaches, umpires, organisers and helpers. Some pictures of our two runners up teams… due to unforeseen circumstances the netball camp has been cancelled.Once again, TJNC were well turned out for the latest Thunder game at the Manchester Arena. Players from all age groups joined to watch Manchester Thunder beat Yorkshire Jets 67-43.
After an exciting first quarter, leading the crowd into thinking it was to be a close game, Thunder came into the second with much more game and made light work of beating the Yorkshire rivals. It was a great evening for our players, some of whom got to meet Sasha Corbin. |
