Once again, TJNC were well turned out for the latest Thunder game at the Manchester Arena. Players from all age groups joined to watch Manchester Thunder beat Yorkshire Jets 67-43.
After an exciting first quarter, leading the crowd into thinking it was to be a close game, Thunder came into the second with much more game and made light work of beating the Yorkshire rivals. It was a great evening for our players, some of whom got to meet Sasha Corbin. Tournament season has begun and it started at Chorley Inferno’s rally on 16th and 17th April.
Over the course of the weekend, each of our age groups took part in their respective competitions with our U9’s, 10’s and 11’s on Saturday and 12’s – 14’s on Sunday. Although a bit fresh, the rain held off for us, creating great conditions for an outdoor event. The under 9’s, 10’s and 11’s started us off to an exciting weekend. Under 9’s were strong, winning 3 of their 5 groups games – just short of getting through to the semi-finals. Under 10’s were a bit unlucky and lost only 1 of their games but didn’t get past the group stage due to goal difference. Our under 11’s managed to push that further and fought through a tough group to their semi-final. They put on a sterling performance but were beaten by Ribble Valley to miss out on a place in the final. |
